Thomas Lydon has worked with choirs and orchestras across the UK, including, recently, The Waverley Ensemble, The Southdowns Camerata, The Harlequin Chamber Choir and Haslemere Musical Society.
He is a regular choral arranger for Novello and is a commissioning editor for Hal Leonard Europe.
His large-scale compositions include a Christmas oratorio for adult and children’s voices: The Night Before Christmas; and a concerto for euphonium and loopstation, premiered in 2014 by the Luxembourger virtuoso Philippe Schwartz. In 2015 he received Arts Council funding to create an orchestral work for the Skipton Camerata titled Song Of The Sea That Was.
As a writer on music, he has contributed articles and reviews to Classical Music, The Strad, Opera Now and Music Teacher magazines, and a chapter on 20th-century music to Omnibus Press’s music encyclopedia ‘Music Chronologies’.
